In Memory
Abiodun Fawehinmi

It is with deep sorrow but profound gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passing of Pa Abiodun Odunayo Fawehinmi. Pa Abiodun passed away peacefully in his sleep at home in Airdrie, AB, with his loved ones by his side on Saturday, September 6, 2025. He is fondly remembered by his children—Foluke Olasoji, Abiola Onabokun, Oluwafemi Fawehinmi, Olawole Fawehinmi, and Ibukun Moses Fawehinmi—his sons- and daughters-in-law, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, and members of RCCG House of David, Calgary.
Born on Tuesday, July 28, 1942, into the distinguished Fawehinmi family in Ondo State, Nigeria, he received his formal education before relocating to Lagos. Not long after, he met his beloved wife, the late Mrs. Omoseike Caroline Fawehinmi (née Oshin). Together, they built a loving family of five children—two daughters and three sons. After his wife's passing in April 2000, Pa Abiodun devoted himself entirely to raising their children on his own, vowing never to remarry and dedicating his life to their upbringing and success. By God’s grace, he accomplished this challenging task with excellence, a fact acknowledged by many who knew him.
In 2011, Pa Abiodun came to Canada to help his daughter care for his grandchildren, demonstrating his enduring commitment to family. He embraced the role of both parent and grandparent with remarkable resilience—an achievement that earned him deep respect from all who knew him. He moved between Nigeria and Canada over the following years, always prioritizing his family’s well-being, before finally settling in Canada in January 2023.
Pa Fawehinmi leaves behind a remarkable legacy characterized by generosity, integrity, and unwavering faith. He was a pillar of strength to his family and a guiding light for all who had the privilege of knowing him. During his time at Consolidated Breweries Plc, where he retired as the head of the human resource management department, his devotion to uplifting others and his boundless compassion made him beloved by colleagues and friends alike. His commitment to uplifting others, coupled with a heart full of compassion, endeared him to everyone he met.
Throughout his accomplished life, Pa Fawehinmi distinguished himself as a devoted leader, mentor, and advocate for progress. His wisdom and humility left an indelible mark on generations, and his love for his family was evident in every action and word. Pa Fawehinmi, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, touched countless lives with his unwavering kindness, wisdom, and dedication to his community. Though his physical presence will be dearly missed, his memory and values live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
