Agnes Roberge

June 25th, 1926 - February 25th, 2025
Agnes Roberge

Agnes Roberge (nee Doyle) was born to Bridget and Patrick Doyle in Clandonald, AB and the first newborn of the settlement. For that honour grandpa, Patrick Doyle, received a free acre of land. Mom graduated in Clandonald and went to Normal training ( teachers training, 2 years at U of A) and taught in rural Vermilion school district.

Following the birth of her blooming family, she became a stay at home mom. Mom and Dad moved from Clandonald after the sale of the Red and White Grocery, butcher shop and restaurant building in 1963 to Lloydminster and later to Sherwood Park.

Mom had 9 children - Edward, Denise, Irene, Donna, Adele, Joanne, Greg (Kandi), Alphonse (Penny) and Leroy (Carrie-Anne). She had 20 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Mom was a beautiful person, an excellent mother, devoted daughter, wife, sister, aunt and friend. Mom was an excellent seamstress, and an active CWL member .

She was predeceased by her husband, Leon in July 2012; her parents; and siblings, Francis, Maureen, Kathleen, Alphonse, James and Madelyn.

Mom passed peacefully in her sleep, with Greg and Kandi by her side. She lived the last years at Newport Harbour Nursing Home, where she was well taken care of. We would like to thank the staff for her excellent care and attentiveness given to our family. Thank you for the many well wishes.

As Mom said her daily Rosary, we ask instead of a donation, a simple Hail Mary in gratitude for this lovely human being.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Columba Catholic Church in Clandonald, AB on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 11:00 am with Inurnment to follow at the St. Columba Cemetery.

Our condolences to your Family on the passing of Auntie Agnes. We enjoyed her visits, sharing a cup of tea while listening to her versions of the Doyle Girls’ shenanigans.
With Love at this sad time, Pat and Lois

Aunt Agnes, you were a big person in my life growing up, my favourite aunt, I’m really sad you’re gone. Rest in peace and say hi to mom and gran and everyone up there for me. All the best to your family, kids and grandkids, they all took great care of you, we all loved you very much. I’m so sorry I can’t be there in person to say goodbye, know that you are in my thoughts and prayers today and always.
