Aidan Elijah Ferguson

Aidan Ferguson passed away on Wednesday, January 14th, 2026, at 7:47 PM at the age of 21 years. He will be remembered with love and adoration ad perpetuam by his girlfriend Izzy and her family; his siblings, Alayna, Taylor, Zahra, and Zuriel; his best friend, Richard; and his parents, Shawn and Natasha. This list is far from exhaustive. He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Clayton Bruce Ferguson and Ray Severny.

Aidan was a talented and devoted musician, often spending hours learning and creating pieces both known and original. He liked to dabble with poetry and philosophy and was generally a man of immense passion and creativity. He valued truth above all else and spent many of his free moments in reflection and the pursuit of wisdom. He not only was a man who had the greatest capacity for love, but he had the greatest capacity to express it and make it known to those he knew. As many of his conversations and creative endeavours make clear, Aidan found joy and peace in the smallest things in daily life, for which he was filled with gratitude toward the Creator.

A poem that he recently composed himself will perhaps best convey his character:

The daylight is fading

Cool air gently embraces my skin

I smell rich, sweet smoke from a fire in the distance

The sound of passing vehicles is a familiar comfort to those who grew up here

And maybe the occasional airplane

All such things contribute to the peace I feel at night

Even the sounds of crows invoke joy

The wild are weary and call for the end

As I climb into my bed

Content with the day’s passing

And the rest that is before me

For all these things, I thank God

For without him there would be none to take pleasure in

May he be content and filled with the joy he was so familiar with in his extraordinary life. Those who love him are eagerly awaiting that day of reunification. For his life we give thanks to God.

Thanks also is fervently extended to the fire and paramedic crews who fought so desperately to save his life.
