Alfred Skjonsberg

On November 28, 1932 Alfred entered this
world, born at home, near the base of the Sunset Hills near Bentley Alberta.
Early afternoon on January 14, 2023, Alfred passed away, in Rimbey Long Term
Care in Rimbey, Alberta.
Left to mourn his death are his wife,
Florrie; his brother, Leonard (Gale) Skjonsberg; his children, Curtis (Maggie),
Roxanna (Ken Bardoel) and Norman (Verna Kuling).
His
Grandchildren: Jodi (Wes) Cross and their family Brody (Santana Watts) and
their girl, Alfred’s precious great great granddaughter Amelia, and Caden, Quinten (Jody) Skjonsberg and their family Kasidy,
Denten and Quaide, Jennie (Brad) Skoyen and their family Emerson and Shiloh, John
(Lyndsi) Bardoel and their family Carter, Cole, Sophia and Caleb, Jennifer
Bardoel (Jamie Cole) and their family Noah and Daxxon, Chantal Skjonsberg (Ben
McKinley), Stephanie (Calvin) Carlson and their family Keaton and Coulter, Kaylyn (Justin) Davyduke and their child Jade
and Kyle (Kelley) Rose and their family Barrett and Lane, also treasured
friends Cindy and Doug Rose.
He
is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Alfred
was predeceased by his parents Jenney (Haarstad) and Gustav Skjonsberg, his
brothers and sisters; Helen (Joseph) Solberg, Stella (Jack) Paull, Edward
(Beth) Skjonsberg, Evelyn (Ervin) Pederson, Hans, and Norma Jean. His in laws
John and Maude Ingram, June (Laurin) Wiese, Leonard Ingram and sisters in law
June Skjonsberg and Muriel Ingram.
We
welcome family and friends to join us, as we lay Alfred to rest in a place he
cherished, the Vig Cemetery at the Grace Lutheran Church near Bentley on June
12, 2023 at 1:00 pm. There will be a reception to follow at 2:30 pm at Forshee
Hall.
The
family would be honored to have memorial donations directed to the Bentley
Museum, to recognize Alfred’s love for local history and the community he
called his home.
