It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alice Dayton, who peacefully left us on July 8, 2025, in Calgary, AB.

Born on July 17, 1952, in Calgary, Alice was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Alice had a passion for many things in life, icluding golfing, curling, spending time with family and friends, working behind the chair doing nails and hair. She loved to travel, and caring for her beloved pets and grandpets.

She lived at Parkland Beach, Gull Lake, AB and Rimbey, AB where she started the legendary hair salon, The Cutting Corner. She later moved to Prince Rupert, BC where she continued her amazing business sense and opened Prince Rupert's first nail salon known as Coastal Nail Studio. She then settled in Red Deer, AB where she continued to share her talents doing hair and nails at various salons until she recently retired in May 2025.

Alice will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Bill Dayton.

Her three children Jennifer Dayton and partner Joshua Kraft, Bryanne and husband Craig Dyrland, and Brady and wife Chelsey Dayton.

She will also be deeply missed by her grandchildren Taylor Gaudet, Dayton, Sloan, and Oli Dyrland, and Lincoln and Eris Dayton.

Alice is survived by her brother, Richard Wilton, and partner Joyce Thompson, as well as many close friends and extended family who meant the world to her.

As per Alice's request, no service will be held. Her family asks that you remember her happily, and lovingly. Her vibrant spirit will forever be cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Forever loved...

This is such sad news to hear. Coastal Nails Studios had such high standards in every facet from the get go!
We did weekly full shop cleanup, then nail day if we were due. Such laughter from Cowpuccino loft to the yellow store front.
Alice you will surely be missed. I only knew you from work, and the loss is heartbreaking to hear. I can only imagine the loss her family feels.
My heart goes out to her family at this time.

Rest peacefully Alice❤️

I remember when Alice would employ students when they had work experience during school hours and after school to earn money. One day I was in for Char to fix a nail and I thought my eyes were deceiving me. Char shook her head. Yep you’re right that’s Margret Adzich, I said “go figure Margret!!…Margret said “Dawn !!”

Ray and Alice curled together for 10 years. So many memories as this team was a close knit team, having lunch in between games and having crib games. Lynn would join us for lunch every now and then and enjoyed visiting with the team. In the summer we enjoyed some golf games with Alice and Annie. A big void has been left in our hearts and our curling season will not be the same without Alice. Our sincere condolences to the entire family, Rest in peace Alice we will think of you often. 🙏💔
