Allan "Al" Church

It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden yet peaceful passing, of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Al Church, of Gleniffer Lake, in the early morning of Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at the age of 77.

Al spent his working years in the oil patch, sometimes being away from home for many months.  He made many new friends that became family while traveling through Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and British Columbia.

When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed his days fishing, camping and quadding in the mountains.  Most of us who knew him well, called him Culvert Al.

After retiring, he enjoyed reading, golfing, traveling, riding his Harley, watching the Castaways baseball team, and spending his winters in Arizona with his loving wife and his Coral Sands family.

Al was a loving husband to Connie for the last 43 years and father of Jeff (Peggy) and Allison (Shaun).  His grandchildren Ainsley and Alton will miss him dearly. Al was predeceased by his parents Bill and Grace Church.

Many thanks to Dr. Kelly and the staff on Unit 11 at the Foothills Hospital for the care and support they provided. A special thanks to Shawn and Jodi Scott and Yara Blair for all the help in this difficult time.

There will be no memorial at this time.

It is with great sadness, that we read of Al’s passing. He was a great neighbor, at Gleniffer, always so helpful to us, when we needed something fixed or to borrow a tool. We had lots of happy times! Love to Connie and family. Your memories, will comfort you through, these difficult times.
