Allan Victor Watson

May 25th, 1933 - January 5th, 2025
Allan Victor Watson

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Allan Victor Watson on Sunday, January 5, 2025.

Allan was born in Calgary on May 25th, 1933. He lived his entire life in Airdrie. Allan farmed alongside his father for many years, and subsequently opened his own business, Arrow Rental Centre, in the early 1970s. In the late 1970s he started Arrow Advertising where he loved the opportunity to visit with his customers until his retirement in the early 2000s.

Allan is remembered by his loving wife of 66 years, Virginia; children, Karen Watson (Marc), Teresa Braun, and Boyd (Carla) Watson, as well as many extended family members. Allan is predeceased by his son-in-law, Richard Braun.

Our mischievous Allan had a fulfilling life full of love, laughter, and friendships. Whether it was summers at the lake or winters in Arizona, Allan enjoyed himself wherever he went. Allan and Virginia hosted New Year’s Eve parties for many years, relishing the company of their closest friends. Allan was a bright light that will be missed by many.

A service will be held at the Woodside Seniors Club, on Tuesday, January 14th, 2025 at 1:00 pm

As an expression of sympathy, the family welcomes donations to the charity of your choice.

Oh my gosh, so sad to learn of Allan's passing. Losing two family members so close together is surely difficult. I so much enjoyed Allan's humour, wisdom and generosity, especially during those years when he was just next door and always willing to offer his expertise. Virginia, you and Allan have always been dear to us and we send our deepest condolences.

Thinking of all your family at this difficult time. The journey with a family member suffering from Alzheimer’s is a grieving process in itself but does not diminish the loss felt when they pass on.
