Alma Walker passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Rimbey Long Term Care Centre surrounded by her family.

She was born, August 27, 1933 in Maidstone, SK. She took all of her schooling there where she met the love of her life, Ray Walker. They were married in Maidstone, July 4, 1954. They moved to Medicine Hat and farmed with Ray’s parents until they moved to Red Deer. Alma and Ray moved to Benalto June 30, 1966 where she helped her husband build up their fuel and grain hauling business. She was a very loyal member of the Benalto Royal Purple and helped whenever she could. She also loved gardening…she would say pulling weeds was relaxing for her. She moved to the Eckville Manor on March 29, 2011.

She is remembered by her children, Brenda (Bill) Darlington of Eckville. Blaine (Margaret) Walker of Stoney Plain, Les Walker and special friend, Lorrie of Calgary, Valerie (Tony) De Paow, of Lacombe; also 8 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister, Lenora Tetreau of Vegreville, brother Alvin (Wendy) Martin of Edmonton, Brother-in-law, Ken (Marilyn) Walker of Sundre.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ray 1999. Granddaughter, Julia 2012, her siblings, Adolf, Harold and Helen. Also by her parents, William and Wilhemina Martin, her father and mother-in-law, Henry and Louise Walker.

Cremation has taken place, a Celebration of Life shall be announced at a later date. Donations can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice, or the Eckville Manor which she called home.
