Had a lot of fun with Andy from the late 70s on to the 90s. It all started the day he showed up in Regina with his white Barracuda. Spent a couple years with him there. Early 80s he was in Calgary, found him working at a Kentucky Fried chicken store, and yes lots of chicken came my way.
One of His first jobs in Regina was working with a fur storage and sales company. He drove a Van loaded with the fur coats. He loved being with people and sales was a natural to him. Also recall his conversations about working for the Hudson's Bay Co. up north. He would grade the furs as they came in and in turn they would pick up supplies. It amazed me as the sales where mostly no cash deals, a barter system. He talked about the spectacular Northern lights at night.
He loved racket sports, really good at it and don't think I ever won one a game with him. He was still playing in tournaments in his early years in Calgary. Darts was another passion, he joined a league and spent many a evening with them.
In Calgary, I boarded at his place for a while and enjoyed the kids, Paul and Terry. Meet my former wife through them and recall a lot of happy times together, especially Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving dinners.
This is before he met Elsie.
And thank you Elise for sharing some of your time with him. Last I seen him, I had coffee with him maybe 7 years ago. Lost his # and never keep in touch. The last several years I tried to get in touch but it never materialized. Rather regret it.
But still have the memories. I miss his sharp wit and the good times we had. Rest in peace my friend.

Andy - what a guy! Andy was my first cousin. We attended part of elementary school together in Steinbach. We shared memories of our grospapa’s place in Kleefeld from the ‘50s. In the early ‘70s Andy worked for the Hudson Bay Co in northern Manitoba. One year he brought me a pair of fur-trimmed beaded buckskin mittens. They are a precious keepsake. When Andy was around, you knew there’d be laughter and “dumheit”, never boring. I enjoyed our back and forth messaging. Elsie, he treasured you, the kids, and gkids. He is definitely missed.
