In Memory
Angus Murray Shaw

Angus Murray Shaw passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 9, 2025 with family at his side. Born in Big Valley Alberta, December 13, 1933, Angus was the youngest of 4 children.
Angus leaves to mourn son, Murray (Marlene); son in law, Gary Bachman; grandchildren, Mehgan (Jeff) Tancock, Myles (Chany) Shaw, Joshua (Jasmine) Bachman, Miranda (Ryan) Brennan, and Charity Bachman. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, Madison, Joel, Hailey, Carter (Tancock), Jonah, Anastasia (Bachman), Cecelia (Brennan), and twins Jaxon and Sydney (Shaw); as well as his sister, Agnes (Glen) Braum of Calgary; and many nieces and nephews.
Angus was predeceased by his wife, Christina Mary; daughter, Carline; grandson, Lucas; and siblings, Mary and Davey.
Angus spent his working years in the oilfield where the family moved around the province until settling in Lacombe in 1977 and stayed there until moving to Red Deer where he spent the last few years. He was never one to shy away from a conversation with friends or strangers alike. He enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Lacombe Golf and Country Club for many years. He would also enjoy heading out for walks down to A & W for tea with friends. His last few years were spent at Creekside Condos, Crimson Villas, and finally Taylor View Towers.
He really enjoyed the visits with Donna, especially if she happened to show up with a “Buddy Burger”. He even had a couple of them in his last days in hospital.
As per Angus’ wishes, there will be a Graveside Service in the spring at the Big Valley Cemetery, where he will join Mary, Carline, and Lucas as well as his parents and many other relatives.
Many thanks to the wonderful staff at the Red Deer Regional Hospital, especially units 32 and 33.

I share your sadness in your loss of Angus.
What a lovely memorial, so touching to read, and very much 'Angus.' 🤗
So true about how he never shied away from conversations. I remember back to when I was still working for him...each time after I would finish work, he always asked if I had time for a cup of tea. It is how we got to know each other. And he sure loved his tea!! So we always had a cup (or two) of tea, enjoying talking about the good old days, growing up on the farm , politics, our families, and many other good topics. He loved his family very much, often mentioning his kids and grandkids. He was proud of you all.
I grew to love him very much, and at one point, asked him if I could adopt him as my "Uncle"...he said "sure...I guess that makes you my neice." I will always treasure that memory.
Thank you, for inviting me to the last couple of Angus's Birthday parties...it was an honor to be there, and share in the fun. I also enjoyed getting to know your family more as well.
I am thankful for all the precious time I shared with Angus...I will miss him very much, and the gift of his friendship will live on forever in my heart. ❤
My many thoughts and prayers are with you all, as you journey through this difficult time. Take good care. and God bless you.
Love Donna
