Anne Kohut

Anne Adeline Kohut passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, Spetember 12, 2026 in Didsbury with family at her side. 

She was born on the farm in Didsbury, the youngest child of Ludwig and Franzesca Kohut. 

Anne attended Neapolis school till grade 6, and started grade 7 – 12 in Calgary. After graduating she enrolled at the Provincial Institute of Technology and Art in a chefs course. In 1951 she worked in Banff, then in 1952 started working for the Calgary Hearld, and stayed for 24 years. Anne could read, write and speak polish. Anne was a faithful member of the Catholic Church, attending mass regularly, was an active member in the Catholic Womens League and sang in the Church Choir. Anne travelled across Canada, many trips to Sheridan, Wyoming to visit family and friends and other American Cities. A highlight in her life was a trip to Poland to visit the homeland of her parents and the relatives that remained there. 

In 1994 Anne moved to Didsbury to be close to her siblings. She was an active member of the 5-0 Club and the 5–0 Singers, a member of St. Anthony’s Parish and Womens Catholic Leage. Anne volunteered at the Didsbury Hospital gift shop, the Museum and the thrift shop. Anne is lovingly rememberd by many nieces and nephews, we all love you and may you rest in peace. Anne is predeceased by her parents, Louis and Frances Kohut; brothers, Frank Kohut, Charles (Jean) Kohut, John (Phyllis) Kohut; sisters, Emilie(Ed) McNeil, Angeline (Cliff) Murphy, Louise (Bob) Stone. 

At her request a private family Graveside Service will be held 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers a donation in Anne’s memory made to a charity of your choice.
