“Be Good!”

Born April 15, 1943 to Astrid and Magnus Carlson, Art was the youngest of three siblings(Hilmor and Amy). Married to Lis for 56 years, he was the “cool dad” and father to Sonja, Karen (with husband Karl Serfas, children Katelyn and Justin), and Kieth (with wife Brandi, children Emmitt and Lo). “Art proudly stepped off this earth to make way for his first great grandson, Noah Karl Bakanec born March 7 @ 2230

Known as "Art the plumber," he worked tirelessly until he went into long term care in 2018 where he passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026.

Art was remembered for his strong work ethic, unwavering promises, and willingness to help anyone in need of his time. As a mentor, he encouraged others to think before acting and always gave practical advice. His kindness, honesty, and contagious laughter made him memorable to all who met him. With his passing, a wealth of wisdom and integrity is lost.

Art believed “Good isn’t cheap and cheap isn’t good” and urged everyone to show pride in their work. “Be Good!” will remain his lasting farewell.

As per Art’s wishes there will be no service. In Art’s memory donations can be made to Claresholm Palliative Care Committee
