Audrey Hunter

It is with much sadness, that we announce the passing of Adriana “Audrey” Hunter, on Monday, September 25, 2023 at age 79, after a short battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

Audrey was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, aunt, and friend. She will be lovingly remembered by her seven children, Elizabeth (Fraser), Carole (Calvin), Kevin, Lindsay (Ron), David, Graham (Synthia), Diane (Bill); eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; many relatives and her best friends Elaine and George. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Wally, her parents, and many relatives.

Audrey enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, doing numerous crafts, gardening, and baking her coveted shortbread cookies to share with many.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Unit 49, at Peter Lougheed Hospital, and AgeCare SkyPointe Hospice.

Your beautiful smile and open heart, you encouraged us all, and never judged. We will laugh and cry as we reminisce about the time we had you. You touched so many while you were here, all part of your journey. Your life was a blessing, and your memory is our treasure. We know that you are reunited with Wally and others that left too soon. You are forever in our hearts, until we meet again.

A Celebration of Life, Open House, will be held at Woodside Seniors Club, 411 Woodside Drive NW Airdrie, on Sunday, November 5, 2023, from 1 – 4pm.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to Women In Need Society would be appreciated.

I am sorry for the loss of your mom. I met Audrey at grief counselling group (we both lost our husbands), this group stayed pretty connected until COVID hit. She was a lovely lady to get to know.

Wally and Audrey, Bob and I, all moved into Woodside the same week in 1990. We shared many good times and laughs with them. After we both lost our husbands, we still kept in touch, usually waving to Audrey as she worked in the flower beds in the yard. We shared the love of crafting and knitting. She will be greatly missed.

My condolence to the loss of Audrey. As a nephew, we have known each other for a life time
since the Haque Edmonton and Airdrie, and I have spent several times with her and Wally in Airdrie.
Blessings to all your love ones.

My aunt Audrey, was fun and interesting and loving!! I will always cherish the times that she and Elizabeth stayed overnight on some of their trips to see family in Edmonton. Late nights, lots of talking and laughing, much wine and cocktails. Missing a very important person in my life now. My heart is with her family and friends, and hoping the great memories will carry you through this difficult time.
