In Memory
Audrey Murphy

Audrey
Marie Murphy nee: Lanoie, born June 3, 1944, left this world peacefully at 5:00am,
Thursday, November 30, 2023, at Red Deer Hospital with her daughter by her
side, from complications of lung cancer and COPD.
Audrey
was loving & comforting & funny & witty & generous. She was messy. Sometimes scatter-brained,
forgetful, intelligent, caring and wise. She was empathetic and trusting to the
point of being gullible, usually resulting in a loss of money, but always with
only the best intentions. She was fun to be around and had a great laugh.
Everyone loved her, even when they were really mad at her.
She
was a mom to everyone: many times she would bring home a wayward soul, or
children would come and stay for days and even weeks. There wasn’t usually a dull moment at our
house.
If
she had something to say to you, she would – and not behind your back either –
in no uncertain terms and often splashed with colorful language, no matter who
you were. Many a boyfriend of her “little
girl” were terrified of her.
Audrey
was predeceased by her grandparents, Jack and Marie (1980) Davies; her father,
Noel Lanoie in 1956; her mother, Anne Kiengersky in 1987; step-father, Lewis
Kiengersky in 2006; her younger brother, Cliff in 1986; her older brother, Ray
in 2013; her second husband, Bud (Edgar) Murphy in 2011; her first husband,
Gordon Otteson in 2021; and sister-in-law, Joyce Brosinsky (nee: Otteson) left
us May 29, of this year.
Audrey
leaves behind her daughter and best friend, Cheryl (Cheri) Otteson of Benalto;
her sister, Mordell nee: Kiengersky (Stacy) Millis of Rocky Mountain House,
their children: Jolene (Austin) and their children: Jasmin, Alanna and Kylie;
Cody (Norie) and Vlaze, all of Rocky; and Kim (Colin) of Calgary; her partner,
Dale Mason; many nieces and nephews; brother and sister-in-law, Harvey and
Diane (nee: Bott) Otteson of Rocky;sister-in-law, Grace Otteson of Red Deer;
brother-in-law, Ray Brosinsky of Rocky; cousins and other extended family in B.C.,
Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Quebec; numerous friends, neighbours and
acquaintances everywhere.
At
Mom’s request, no funeral will be held.
We plan to have a couple of gatherings sometime in the future.
If
you wish to, do something kind for some living being today, tomorrow, anyday,
everyday… the world can use more love in it.

I was so sorry to hear about Audrey. I was her Visiting Teacher from the church. Myself and my Visiting Teaching partner were helping her with her laundry and cleaning up the house getting ready for her to move into the Manor. Unfortunately I got sick and ended up in the hospital in Red Deer and never heard anything about Audrey until almost the end of December so I never got to talk to her at all after that. Your mother was a very special lady. I so enjoyed visiting and helping her. I have known Audrey for a very long time and I am going to miss visiting with her. If there is anything I can do please let me know. Take care and God bless you.

I am so sorry for your loss. I send my deepest sympathy to you. Your Mom was one of a kind and will be treasured in my heart forever. Nobody like her and I say that in a loving way. It makes me smile to think of her and I can hear her as I write this message to you.
I hope the pain of her loss, passes quick and your memories turn to laughter and joy.
Sending biggest hugs and all my love
Sheila
