Barney Peter Buckle

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Barney Buckle, beloved husband of Anne Buckle (Arneson) for 57 years. He passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025 at the age of 78.

Barney was born May 28, 1947 in Wainwright, AB to Harold and Blenda Buckle. He grew up in Wainwright, AB where he met the love of his life Anne. They got married in Wainwright on November 2, 1968.

Barney was a painter for his whole working career. He was a dedicated baseball coach in Airdrie for many years. His favorite teams were the Oilers and Blue Jays. He had a love for camping, fishing and spending time with his family.

Barney will be lovingly missed by his wife, Anne; his children, Shawna, Randy (Lisa) and Bonnie (Darryl); his grandchildren, Samantha (Andrew), Terrance, Kiara (Nick) and Brantley; his great-grandchildren, Luca and a baby girl to arrive next month.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Half Century Club, 1139 Osler Street in Carstairs, Alberta on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 11am. A lunch to follow.

All who knew and loved Barney are welcome to attend and celebrate his life.
