into Foremost following John’s death in 2018 and enjoyed her time in the
Fairway manor.
This poem written by Betty, awarded a silver medal at the southeast zone of the Alberta 55+ Games, pretty much sums up her life philosophy.
Like women
everywhere
I have lived
my life.
I didn’t
climb a mountain.
I didn’t fly
to the moon.
I didn’t
discover penicillin.
I raised my
family.
Five beautiful children make their way in the world.
I kept my home.
I loved my neighbour.
I laughed, I
cried.
I am at
peace.
I have lived
well.
There will be
no formal Funeral Service held.
If you wish
to do something in Betty’s memory, stop and smell the flowers, donate to a
favourite charity, hug the ones you love.
