In Memory
Blake Arthur Herrmann

Blake Herrmann passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2005, sitting in his beloved 1967 C10 pickup, of heart failure; fortunate to survive 18+ years after heart surgery at age 55.
He will be lovingly remembered by grandson, Kayden; sister, Diane; and brothers. Alan & Les; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Blake was pre-deceased by his son, Will in 2010; parents, Bill (2011) & Eileen (2024); brothers, Calvin (1979), and Terry (2009) and sister, Gail (2014).
Born and raised in Calgary, his career started in flooring and framing homes. In 1979 he moved to Crossfield where he lived for 45 years, working at Western Rock Bit/RNG/Maxfield in the maintenance department for 35 years, keeping forklifts operating and repairing those "damn grinders" until his retirement in 2014.
At a very young age he loved taking things apart, anything mechanical to see how it worked. At 4 years old he could identify all makes and models of cars and pickups leading to continual tinkering with any automobile he came across like sports cars, roadsters, vintage vehicles of all kinds. You would always see him at Car Show & Shine Events anywhere in Alberta. He had a LIST of these annual shows.
His first train set at about 7 years old as a Christmas present was a LIONEL TRAIN that went round and round. This started his obsession with Model Railroads, evident in his house today and the very large layout in the front yard. The kids walking by would always ask 'When are you going to run the train?" while he was tinkering with tracks and or handmade buildings. He was a very craft minded person and built things with his own hands such as bridges, barricades, mountains & buildings, etc.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Harvest Lounge & Grill in Crossfield, AB on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at 2:00 PM.
Blake will be laid to rest with his son, Will, in the Crossfield Columbarium in the Spring of 2026.
