It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Burke Dales, a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. Burke departed this world on January 6, 2024, in Calgary, Alberta, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and passion for sports.

Born on February 16, 1977, in Collingwood, Ontario, Burke was a remarkable individual who lived life to the fullest. From an early age, it was evident that Burke possessed an extraordinary talent for sports. His love for soccer, hockey, and football was unparalleled, and he dedicated countless years to honing his skills, ultimately making football his chosen career. Burke's dedication and determination shone brightly, inspiring all those who had the privilege of witnessing his athletic prowess.

In recent years, Burke found a new passion in Fantasy football. His enthusiasm for the game was infectious, and he enjoyed strategizing, analyzing statistics, and engaging with fellow enthusiasts. Burke's love for sports was not limited to his own participation but extended to the camaraderie and joy it brought to others.

Burke will forever be lovingly remembered by his parents, Jim and Heather Dales, who supported him unconditionally throughout his athletic journey. His sister, Stacey Dales, shared a special bond with Burke and will cherish the memories they created together. Burke's grandparents, Lyle (predeceased) and Doris Dales, as well as Jack and Margaret Blinco (predeceased), held a special place in his heart, and their love and guidance shaped him into the remarkable person he became.

His aunts and uncles, Dave and Kathy Bates, Beverley Dales-Mitchell, and the late Ted Blinco, played significant roles in Burke's life, providing him with unwavering support and love. Burke's cousins, Amy Marshall (Jordan), Scott Bates (Tatum), Scott Mitchell (Kim), Karen McDonald (Rob), Gary Mitchell (Rebecca), and their beautiful children, were an integral part of his extended family, sharing countless joyous moments and everlasting memories.

A time to honor Burke's life and pay respects to his urn, will be held at Prairie Rose Cremation & Funeral Services, located at 12 East Lake Way N.E., Airdrie, AB, on January 12, 2024, from 1-4 pm. We invite all those whose lives were touched by Burke to join us in commemorating a life well-lived and a spirit that will forever remain in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to an addiction center of your choice in Burke's honor. May his passion for life continue to inspire future generations, just as he inspired us.

Rest in peace, dear Burke. Your indomitable spirit and love for sports will forever be etched in our memories. You will be deeply missed, but your legacy will live on.

My sympathies to Burke's family, I am deeply sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of meeting Burke 16 years ago, when he first walked into my barber shop. I will always remember Burke's excitement when he won the Grey Cup and took the time to bring it by the shop to celebrate with me. I am grateful all these years later to call him my friend. I will truly miss our conversations and laughs. I know we all will.

Really would have liked to have been able to attend this for Burke--please accept my and my family's sincere condolences. Terribly sad and sorry to have heard this news. I've so many great memories of hanging out together so many moons ago, and more recently from time to time in Calgary. Burke was truly: One of a Kind. Tremendous athletic talent, hilarious, tough and considerate/loyal. And more than sometimes...complicated, yup! :)
He and Stacey are 2 of the best athletic talents Brockville has ever yielded, easily.
I'll really miss Burke and our catch ups. NOTHING but smiles and fantastic memories. He was an absolute beauty.
Thinking of you guys a lot; again, sincere condolences from Carol/I and family.
