Leif Trockstad

Leif Trockstad passed away suddenly in his home on February 14th , 2024 at the age of 69. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Marcy (Nick) Pengilly and Sharla (Chris) Black; grandsons, Forest, Felix, and Benjamin, as well as his ex-wife, Brenda. He was predeceased by his parents, Janet and Alf Trockstad and his siblings, Eivind Trockstad, Betty Ann Fredericks, Maurice Trockstad, and Bruce Trockstad. Leif loved all of his family but was especially close with Bruce and was deeply saddened by his passing. Leif was born in Lethbridge and moved to Peace River with his parents for about 10 years. He returned to Lethbridge in 1972 where he met Brenda and they were married in 1978. They moved to Airdrie in 1992 where he lived until his passing. Being much younger than his siblings, he grew up close in age to many of his nieces and nephews and would always retell many fond memories with Bonnie, Richard, David, and Terry and remained a close friend with Larry. He had many jobs and was an accomplished carpenter. He built houses, renovated homes and worked on several hospitals in southern Alberta. He took special pride in having worked on the firehall in Waterton. In his younger years, Leif loved camping in the summer and skiing in the winter. He was a joker and an avid storyteller, and although he didn’t play an instrument, he had a deep love for music. He could always be found blasting his favorite tunes in his house on the weekends. Leif had many friends who were all very dear to him; he was kind and loyal to everyone he knew. Leif’s family is so happy that he got to spend one last Sunday with his friends watching the Super Bowl before his passing. Leif means life and he lived it to the fullest. In memory of Leif there will be a Celebration of Life at Brella Vida, 700 FallPro Park, 2889 Kingsview Blvd SE, Airdrie, AB  on Saturday, February 24^th, 2024 from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM.
