Charles Edward Wheeler
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles Edward Wheeler in Red Deer, Alberta on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his wife, Lynda; as well as his daughter, Ellen Scott (Greg) and their children, Sarah Cawsey (Dave) and Jackie Pinsent (Dan); and son, Bill and his children, Paul and Michael (Trisha). He will be lovingly cherished by Lynda’s children, Pam LaPorte (Fred) and TJ Stewart (Christie). He will be affectionately remembered by their grandchildren, Paul, Sarah, Michael, Jackie, Hayley, Ty, Brayden, Payton, Hannah, Reese, Connor and Paxton; as well as great-grandchildren; Jenna, Kale, Addison, Olivia, Elise, Gabby, Penny, Julia, Lochlin and Dawson.
Charlie is also survived by his younger sister, Betty Stewart of Simcoe Ontario.
He started his career in Simcoe Ontario, working for the American Can Company, later known as Ball Packaging, in 1948. He was transferred to Red Deer in 1967 to build the Red Deer factory and his career lasted 53 years with many transfers throughout Canada. He ended his 53 years when he closed the Red Deer facility in 1995 & consulted for Ball for another 6 years.
Charlie will be fondly remembered for his love of the great outdoors, his passion for animals; both wild and tame, and his great love of family. Charlie also loved his travels, his home in Arizona and his wine at the end of the day.
A Celebration of Life will be held at his home at Sierra Grand Condo, #206, 4805-45 street Red Deer, AB, 3rd floor party room, on Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 1-3 pm.
