Clifford Floyd Weum

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Clifford Floyd Weum of Airdrie, AB on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the age of 78.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Sandra (Jay) Kreamer of Edmonton, Wayne (Marcy) Weum of Sherwood Park, and Cecil (Jami) Weum of Crossfield; his grandchildren, Emily and Robert Kreamer, Charlotte, Jack, and Sadie Weum, and Cecil Jr., Grayson, and Gavin Weum; sisters, Linda (Gary) Southgate, Battleford, SK, and Valerie (Henry) Butchko, Battleford, SK and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his devoted wife, Renee Weum; sister, Joyce Gubbe; father, Cecil Weum; and mother & step-father, Eva & Claude Stebbing.

Cliff enjoyed his time with his family at Tay River, quadding, the summer life of camping and took great care at maintaining his property. This included fine tuning his lawn with a pair of scissors. He always had a good joke and a story to share. He enjoyed spending time reading westerns by his favourite author, Louis L’Amour. In his younger days, he worked as a sandblaster in the oilfield, which took him on many travels. When he was raising his family, he returned to the old homestead in Battleford, Saskatchewan and proceeded with farming for several years. In 1996 he moved with Renee, Wayne and Cecil to Airdrie, Alberta. He returned to a sandblasting career with Propak until his retirement.

Special thanks to all of those at Cedarwood Station where he resided the last 3 years and to those on Unit 38 at Peter Lougheed Centre who cared for him in his last hours.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of your choice.

We were sad to read of Cliff’s passing. He was one of our great neighbors on Mountain Circle and we missed our little visits with him when he moved. I can still picture him making his way around the block with his snow blower.

We send our condolences to Clifford’s family on the loss of a very special man. We have wonderful memories of times we spent with cousin Clifford, and chuckle just thinking of his quick wit and timely stories.
