Clifford Villeneuve

Clifford Villeneuve passed away Saturday May 3rd 2025 at the age of 70 years old.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, and partner of 48 years, Donna; his children, Nathan (Kathleen), Ashley (Andrew), Steven (Stephanie); and grandchildren Owen, Patrick, and Chance.

Clifford was predeceased by his father, Wilfred; mother, Winifred; and multiple siblings, most recently Laurette St. James and Johnny Villeneuve. He is survived by his siblings, Agnes, Carolyn, Elizabeth, Henry, Denyse, Reina as well as multiple nieces, nephews, and godchildren.

Clifford was born at home in a small township of Hudson, Quebec on Oct. 23, 1954. He grew up in a time when kids could run wild and were free to explore life to the fullest. As a young man he was told to head out West where work was plentiful. So he did, Clifford arrived in Calgary, Alberta in 1976 and pursued a career in the construction industry. Clifford obtained his Red Seal Journeymen Carpenter ticket from SAIT while working for PCL, Coram Construction. He worked on multiple large construction sites, bridges, and water treatment plants in and around Calgary.

He was the original home repair, DIY, “Mr. Fix It”. Always generous with his skills he had a reputation for being someone you could call when you needed help. He could fix any machine, pipe, wall, or car that was giving his family or friends trouble.

Along with his help always came a heaping helping of how to “do it right way the first time”, and endless conversations over cups of coffee sharing his knowledge and expertise.

Clifford also enjoyed everything Sci Fi: Dr Who, Star Trek, Star Gate, and Red Dwarf. He would even tell the grandkids that he was a spaceman in training. Clifford also loved playing guitar and sharing his love of music with us all. Clifford’s greatest joys were his family, children, and grandchildren. He was so very proud of each and every one of them. He considered himself blessed to be a father and the luckiest man on Earth. Along with family Clifford was also blessed with wonderful friendships and will be deeply missed by many.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St Paul’s Catholic Church, 1305 Main Street South Airdrie Alberta on May 17th 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Luncheon to follow at St Paul’s.

In lieu of flowers and in loving memory of Clifford the family has started a Go Fund Me account in order to purchase an oxygen concentrator unit for Respiratory Homecare Solutions, if so inclined please follow the link;  gofundme/b25c69e8 or QR Code

Dear Donna and family,

Clifford (husband, dad, grandpa)was such a loving, caring individual. He never had a bad thing to say about anyone. His love for family was always there and he always showed that love to me and all of my family.

Above all he cared so deeply for his loving wife Donna and his beautiful children. His love and guidance has been shown thru his children, you are all so loving and kind and that is exactly how your dad was!

Thank you so much for sharing him with our family. I always felt his kindness anytime we gathered, having that kind of love is so rare these days.

Saying goodbye to such a beautiful soul is so difficult 😞🙏 cherish your memories and know I love you all very much xo 😘 and hope the days to come will somehow get a little bit easier. My prayers will be with all of you.

Love you
Sandra xo 🙏

PS…I will miss his little jokes he would say…or little jabs of laughter. He was a good man, our family has lost a gentle soul. Bye for now Clifford until we meet again ♥️🙏
