Corelene Ella May Boland

July 18th, 1942 - July 10th, 2025
Corelene Ella May Boland

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Corelene Ella May Boland, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, on July 10, 2025, just days shy of her 83rd birthday.

Corelene was born on July 18, 1942, in Emo, Ontario, and spent her early years growing up on the family farm. She carried her rural upbringing's determination, warmth, and sense of community throughout her life.

On August 15, 1964, Corelene married the love of her life, Larry, in Fort Frances, Ontario, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with love, devotion, and shared adventures. Together, they made homes in several places across northwestern Ontario, including Fort Frances, Kenora, and Dryden. In 1984, they moved to Steinbach, Manitoba and then on to Morden, Manitoba and Red Deer, Alberta before settling in Airdrie, Alberta in 1996, where they built a wonderful life surrounded by treasured friends and family.

Family was Corelene’s greatest joy. She is survived by her loving husband, Larry; her sons Brendon (Lauren), Jason (Janice), and Ryan; her cherished grandchildren Katelyn, Matthew, Maeve, and Padraig; her devoted niece Janet (Dennis) and many other nieces and nephews. Corelene was predeceased by her son, Ian; her parents, Gordon and Ella; her sisters, Iris, Gordiena, and Marliene; and her brother-in-law, Ernest.

Corelene’s professional life often revolved around bookkeeping, where her sharp mind and meticulous nature shone. She began her career with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, but her true passion lay in helping others, particularly through preparing income taxes. Her warmth, patience, and dedication made a typically stressful time of year easier for many.

Corelene was also a proud and active member of the Catholic Women’s League (CWL). Corelene held many important roles within the League where she formed lasting friendships and faithfully attended conventions and events. Her devotion to her faith and her community was evident in the joy she found in this meaningful service. In recognition of her dedication and contributions to the League, Corelene was honored with the Maple Leaf Service Pin as a symbol of her commitment.

More than anything, Corelene cherished time spent with family and friends. Whether gathered at the table, laughing over shared memories, or simply enjoying each other’s presence, she had a way of making those around her feel valued and loved.

Her kindness, dedication, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Corelene’s life was a testament to the power of family, faith, and community to bring meaning and purpose.

A Memorial Service to Celebrate Corelene’s Life will take place at St Paul’s Catholic Church in Airdrie (1305 Main Street S) on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Airdrie Foodbank or Airdrie Meals on Wheels in Corelene’s memory.

May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love she gave so freely in life.
