Crystal Pelton

September 6th, 1972 - July 9th, 2025
Crystal Pelton

With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Crystal Pelton on July 9th, 2025.

After sharing twenty-seven years of marriage, Crystal leaves behind her soulmate in life and husband, Kelly Pelton. Together they shared an endless amount of love, laughter and drinks.

Crystal left a distinct and lasting mark on every person whose life she touched. To name every individual she cherished would be impossible; her reach was vast, and her warmth and spirit are unforgettable. She is survived and remembered by countless family members, friends, and neighbours.

Sadly, Crystal lost her mom, Kathie Klett, who passed in October 2024, but they are together once again.

Well-respected in her field, Crystal spent her professional life working in mainly financial leadership roles. Crystal had a distinct passion for life. She was an adventurer, a go-getter and a cat-lover. She never shied away from using her sharp wit, intellect or humour. Crystal will never be forgotten; she will live on in shared moments, stories, memories, and smiles.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Crystal’s memory to The Wilder Institute, www.wilderinstitute.org/take-action/donate/ which she supported abundantly in her lifetime, and STARS Air Ambulance, www.stars.ca . Additionally, Crystal was a big advocate for blood donations, in her memory, please consider donating blood.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring of 2026. If you’re interested in attending, please let us know by completing the Google form attached. We are expecting a considerable turnout and may not be able to accommodate everyone.

We are so sorry to hear of Crystal’s passing. Gone way too soon. We are thinking of you Kelly and all of Crystal’s family and friends. Sending hugs to you all. I will always remember her love of stampede, cats, Halloween and the Offspring. Glad we got to see her a couple years ago at roundup. RIP Crystal

I am shocked and saddened with this news. Crystal and I met as colleagues and became fast friends. After our work was done we always found time to enjoy a “cold” beverage afterwards. I will forever cherish Crystal and Kelly coming to Halifax for vacation. We had many belly laughs and experiences. Crystal’s love of life, laughter and smiles were contagious in any room she was in. Rest in peace my friend.❤️

Crystal has been my dear friend since I was 13 years old. We had every class together, and that was the start of years of mischief! A special memory is of Crystal as a bride. Her mom Kathy designed and sewed her wedding dress – Crystal was so absolutely beautiful.

I was so fortunate to work alongside Crystal at CIBC — her energy, work ethic, intellect, and quick wit left a lasting impression.

Kelly, Todd and I often talk about those early years and the fond memories we shared with you both — bonding over food, wine, laughter, and great conversation. Crystal brought such authenticity and a spark to every moment.

Our hearts are with you and your family.

We are so very saddened to hear this terrible news. From the moment I met Crystal at CIBC over 25 years ago I knew she would be a fun colleague and friend and that she sure was over the years. Our kids still say that Crystal and Kelly did the best Halloween ever with the best treats . RIP my friend 🙏. Our thoughts and prayers and big hugs are with you Kelly and family.

I never thought the last time I would see you was on Canada Day. I should have stayed for that last drink or accepted your invitation to stay over. The less

I was saddened to hear of Crystal’s passing. Though it’s been many years, we were just teenagers when we crossed paths, I’ve never forgotten her kindness and spirit. My heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones.

Crystal, so aptly named, lit up a room when she entered. Having worked alongside her for several years I remember her deep intelligence, quick wit and most of all, her crazy infectious laugh. My heart goes out to Kelly - how unfair to lose her so young and so unexpectedly. She is somewhere now eating Smarties in the order of rainbow colours.
