David Roberts was born August 23, 1949 in Banff, Alberta. He was the second oldest child to Marion "Jean" Roberts & Robert "Bob" Roberts. Dave was married in Balzac, Alberta to the love of his life Nancy for just over fifty years!  He had a career in business administration and graduated from SAIT in 1969. Dave started working as a store manager in many northern locations for the Hudson Bay Company. Later he went on to work at his family’s store & post office in Balzac, AB. Dave did this for many years before moving on to work for Associated Grocery for 13 years where he became a lead buyer for confectionary & tobacco. In 1994 Dave opened an IT consulting company and finished his career working for the Natural Gas Exchange where he did software testing and ran mobile IT services.

Dave was heavily involved in the community as a Mason; he was a Master of the Crossfield Lodge for a period. He was a mentor and friend to many! Dave was also very dedicated to family and made special efforts to stay connected to his many nieces and nephews, cousins and his three other siblings. Dave is lovingly known by many names including "Uncle Rules" because he loved games especially playing cards. Dave had a passion for music, history and the arts. He was always looking for fun activities to try and became involved in several ukulele groups as a senior. Dave loved to travel and camp and enjoyed many adventures with his wife and dogs. Over the years he and Nancy had several dogs that they shared these adventures with: Teddy-boy, Skipper, Penny, Arfless-Pipkins, Dusty, Puddles, Dugal, Zoe, Jiro, Curly and Milly. Dave loved to try new restaurants and go to old favorites as well. He was loyal and kind and will be missed by many.

Dave is survived by his wife Nancy Roberts, Milly his dog and his two brothers Donald and Jamie Roberts as well as many nieces and nephews in the Roberts clan. He is also survived by many extended family members and friendships that he has nurtured over the years.
