David Watson Crowe

After a challenging journey with Kidney Disease, David passed away at Agape Hospice on Monday, June 9, 2025 at the age of 86 years. Saddened by their loss, but grateful for his peaceful passing are Donna, Jennifer (Lorne), and Murray. David is lovingly remembered by his brother John Crowe of Motherwell, Scotland.

At the age of 18, David immigrated to Canada. He was a proud Scot, and equally as proud to become a Canadian citizen. David’s work life began as a house painter and decorator in Scotland. Upon arrival to Canada, a Bank of Montreal employment ad caught his eye, beginning his lengthy career in banking. Throughout his business career, David worked for the Federal Business Development Bank, and the City of Calgary Economic Development until his retirement in 2003.

David’s desire to help others resulted in numerous volunteer opportunities including Scouts Canada, Junior Achievement, refereeing with Calgary Minor Soccer, and Habitat for Humanity. Coffee with the guys at Market Mall was also one of his favourite pastimes.

Many a happy day was spent at the family cabin, “The Crowe’s Nest”, in Brisco BC, where carpentry and lumberjack skills were honed.

Thanks to friends Andrew and Shirley Beedham who held a special place in David’s heart.

A gathering to celebrate David’s life will be held at a later date.
