Dawna Young

Dawna Elaina Young (nee Hough) of Drayton Valley (formerly known to many as Dawna Ament of Spruce Grove), passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the age of 80. 

Dawna lived a vibrant life filled with creativity and family. She was a gifted tailor who spent many years designing and creating beautiful custom garments and formal wear; leaving a lasting mark through her artistry and dedication to her craft. Above all, Dawna loved the Lord and she never missed an opportunity to give Him the credit for everything she was able to accomplish. 

Dawna is lovingly remembered by her loving children, Tyler (Lorna) and Angie (Tim); her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her dear brothers Marvin (Jenny) and Wade (Vicki); and her devoted sisters, Rita (Al) and Verna (Ray). Dawna was predeceased by her beloved brother Ronald (Norah). 

At Dawna’s request, no service will be held. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and it brings comfort to know that she will rest in peace with her Lord, Jesus Christ. See you soon, Mom!
