Dirk Abbenbroek

Dirk Abbenbroek passed away peacefully in Calgary on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at the age of 93.

Dirk was born in the city of Arnhem, Holland and immigrated to Canada in 1953 and settled in Calgary. He was an amazing baker having had his own bakery in Calgary for many years and was an avid golfer and gardener.

Dirk was predeceased by his wife, Eileen (Peggy) Abbenbroek in 2018. Dirk will be lovingly remembered by his children, Richard, Robert, Laurie (Wayne), and Roger; grandchildren, Cassandra (Travis), Joshua, Jessica (Byran), Sabrina (Ryan), and Kyle (Rachel); great-grandchildren, Caleb and Grace; and siblings, Netty and Cor; along with many extended family and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at AgeCare SkyPointe for their care and support. At Dirk’s request no service will be held.
