Dolores D'Amour

Dolores Doreen D’Amour, was born in
Hamilton, Ontario on November 15, 1941. She was the third eldest of a family of
12 children, 5 of who pre-deceased her, as did her mother and father. She
maintained an active participant in the lives of her siblings and their
extended families at reunions, celebrations and many family activities.
Following her high school graduation,
Dolores entered the convent of the Sisters Faithful Companions of Jesus
(1960-1975). She graduated from the University of Toronto with a B.A. in 1965
and from the university of London, England with a post graduate certificate in
Education in 1966.
Dolores continued her Education obtaining a
M. ED in education in 1975 and a M. Div at the university of Toronto in 1985.
She also continued her commitment to her spiritual development over her
lifetime and remained in close association with the FCJ Sisters as a companion
in mission throughout the last 20 years.
Over the span of 40 years, Dolores held
responsible careers in teaching, counselling and administration retiring in
2010. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, generosity and courage in
her positive response to her terminal illness with cancer. She died peacefully,
surrounded by her siblings at the age of 81.
A mass will be held at Holy Trinity Church
1525 45 St SE, Calgary AB on Friday February 17, 2023 and lunch with follow at
the church hall. A celebration of life and the interment of her ashes will be
held on April 29 (details to come). In lieu of flowers please make a donation
