Donald Maclean Whitehead

Donald Maclean Whitehead was born in Calgary on February 23, 1954, and passed away peacefully in Calgary, on Friday, January 02, 2026, with his family by his side.

He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife, Catherine Whitehead; his children, Lindsay, Alisha and William (Darby); grandchildren, Jackson and Maddie Rupp; his sister, Marilyn Whitehead (Bryant); brother, Davis; and many other family and friends. Donald was predeceased by his brother, Peter, and his parents, Marion and John Whitehead.

After high school Don successfully ran several small businesses. He liked to joke that he had to be the boss as he couldn’t take orders and would not be a good employee. He was a family man, who loved his children more than anything in the world. He loved to work, travel, golf, and above all laugh.

The family would like to thank the team at the Peter Lougheed Medical Centre for their compassionate care of Donald in his final days.

A private service for Donald will be held at a later date.
