In Memory
Don Wilson

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Donald Archie Wilson on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at the age of 85 years.
Don was born on March 8, 1940, and was predeceased by his loving wife, Annette, in July of 2025. Don and Annette were married for 63 years. He was also predeceased by his son, Brent (January 202l); brother, Norman Wilson (March 2025); sister, Evelyn Sim (December 2013); and his parents, Duncan Wilson (August 1980) and Jean Wilson (April 2009).
He will be forever missed by his daughters, Lisa van Oosten (Paul) and Anita Van Der Voort (Tom), and Don and Annette’s cherished seven grandchildren, Shaun Poburan (Sarah), Kristen Poburan (Josh), Dawn Blondeau (Dustin), Ashley Langdown (Cory), Melanie Ouelett (Jesse), Megan Wilson, and Cody Wilson.
Don leaves behind eleven great-grandchildren, Mason, Marcus, Riley, Jessica, Hunter, Hailey, Riley, Jeffery, Alexis, Bentley, and Jaxson.
Don was devoted to his wife and family, finding his greatest joy in the time spent with Annette, their grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was always happiest when surrounded by loved ones-whether fixing bicycles, lending a helping hand, or quietly ensuring everyone was taken care of.
Don expressed his love by helping fix whatever needed attention wherever he went. This included renovating two converted school buses so the family could go camping at the lake and take road trips together, which often involved canoe trips, fishing and water skiing.
He enjoyed playing board games such as Sequence and Connect Four, along with countless card games, puzzles, building Lego creations, swimming in the pool, and more, creating cherished memories with his grandchildren. His presence and love for Annette brought stability to family gatherings, and his legacy lives on through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who miss him dearly.
Annette and Don loved to travel in their retirement, journeying throughout Canada and the United States in their motorhome. They cherished these adventures but cherished time with family above all else.
Don’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the care staff of Didsbury Hospital and everyone at Airdrie Cares Community for their loving and compassionate care.
In keeping with Don’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
