In Memory
Douglas B. Havens
Doug Havens (Maca) passed away peacefully at Bethany Didsbury at the age of 95.
Maca will be lovingly remembered by his children, Arlene (Ken) Guzda, Maxine (Ken) Woywitka and Walter (Colleen) Havens. Maca was predeceased by his wife, Nancie; daughter, Dr. Barbara Havens-Lees; and a granddaughter. Maca will be sadly missed by his 9 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
Both Doug and Nancie were athletes at the Olds Agricultural College where they both met and graduated. Maca was an easy-going grandfather who had a love for his family and cattle. Maca spent hours with his grandchildren, waterskiing, fishing, camping and golfing at the farm and attending as many grandchildren activities as he could.
Our family has sincerely appreciated all of the love, support and understanding received over the years. A special thanks to Bethany Didsbury for all of their constant care and support and to thank hearing specialist, Leanne at Balance Hearing.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MS Society. A charity that was close to his heart; www.mscanada.ca

May you reflect on the wonderful joys, adventures, and richness of your country life at the farm throughout the years.
Deepest sympathy to Arlene and Ken for being so very involved and dedicated with exemplary care, compassion and kindness to Maca in his senior years. Take comfort in knowing how much you did for your father. Doug was blessed with a wonderful family.

I am sorry to hear of your father’s passing and please accept my sincerest condolences. He touched many lives and was a great influence in Mike and Joy’s lives. I am grateful for his caring spirit, his love of family and his dedication.
As I knew your dad, I came to appreciate his down-to-earth approach to life. He took farming’s ups and downs in stride, he was a dedicated husband and father during the difficult times of Barbara’s illness, and he was always so supportive to Mike and Joy. They had many, many happy times at the farm. He was a rock-solid anchor for them.
Now his legacy will be carried on in the hearts and minds of his family. I will remember him as a good man who held my sincere respect.
