In Memory
Edmund "Ed" James

Ed passed away on May 10, 2023 at the age
of 71 years. He was born in Calgary on
September 12, 1951 to Alfred and Irene.
The family lived in Ardenode, Tees, Blackfalds and settled in Red Deer
in 1967. He worked for AGT/Telus for 32
years. He loved socializing, hunting,
fishing, curling, camping, gardening, golfing, travelling and recently pickle
ball. He was also an unpaid coach for
many TV sports!
In May, 2022 an undetected brain bleed
caused him to stroke. After surgery in
Edmonton he rehabbed at the RDRHC and miraculously walked out on his own 2 legs
in July. He was unable to speak but
communicated well with his eye rolls!
Unfortunately in March, 2023 he contracted pneumonia and was readmitted
to the hospital and was not able to recover.
He will be dearly missed by his wife Patty,
4 children, Adelle, Trina (Joseph), Dustin (Nadine), Cody (Sarah), his
grandsons Ethan, Aidan, Finlay and Fischer as well as brother Dave (Sharon)
James and sister Kathy (Murray) Bascom, his sisters-in-law and brothers in-law
Cathy and Sandy Reid and Kevin and Shelley Ford and numerous nieces and
nephews.
He was a wonderful husband, father and
grandfather who was always happy to accommodate in any way he could, which
sometimes had him in the sandbox with the kids.
He built fences, worked on vehicles, painted, repaired etc. for the
family and his garage was organized chaos!
He had kind eyes, a warm smile and gentle
spirit.
Thank you to the Early Supported Discharge

funeral service. In lieu of flowers donations
in Ed’s name can be made to the Red Deer Hospice.
