Laurie and Family. My deepest condolences to all. I met Edna when I joined Lethbridge Sorority in 2000. Visiting her and her Chapter was always such a joy. At my first meeting at their Chapter, I was extremely nervous as I knew no-one. But, Edna met me at her door and gave me a big Welcome hug - what a warming relief. Edna had a great sense of humor and it was a pleasure to be around her. Any sorority function and you could be certain Edna would be in attendance. I remember Edna telling me about her trip home from one of our Banquets…. She realized almost too late that her car was on empty and she was afraid she would run out of gas. Since she lived out of town, it was late and stores were closing, she pulled into the pumps and proceeded to fill her car. However she soon realized that she had no money on her to pay the attendant. Edna being Edna told the young man of her plight and pleaded and guaranteed that if he let her go she would return and pay for the gas. The attendant took pity on her and let her leave. Half hour or so, the young man got reimbursed for the gas - which he said surprised him. Only Edna would have been able to be this fortunate! She was what I often called a “Hot Ticket”! May you all find comfort in the happy moments and times you spent with her.
