Edward John Phillippe Auclair

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Edward John Phillippe Auclair on Friday, March 28, 2025, at the age of 79. Ed was born on August 15, 1945, and lived a life full of love, laughter, and cherished moments with family and friends.

Ed’s life was defined by his open, loving heart - shown through endless dedication to his family and friends. He was a stoic, hardworking man with a soft presence and contagious sense of humor. Ed lived without hesitation, exemplifying true strength, kindness, and integrity. His calm and thoughtful demeanor never wavered, even in the tough times.

One of his greatest joys was traveling, visiting many parts of the world. Whether scuba diving, exploring ancient ruins and churches, or relaxing on a beach, Ed walked through each new place with curiosity and humility. Ed was an adventure seeker at heart. At home he was our Eddie, bringing laughter to the dinner table and brightness to the morning.

Ed fought his battle with lung disease with courage and grace. His sweet and spicy personality shone through to his final days. Ed made each tiny moment count, showing gratitude for everyone and everything around him. We are deeply grateful to the Airdrie Palliative Team, Concierge Private Nursing, and Dulcina Hospice staff who gave Ed comfort and excellent care.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Rhonda; son Cody (Ileea); stepchildren Ryan (Caitlynn) and Kelly (Jesse), grandchildren Nicholas, Leah, Everlee, Ryanne, Adelynn, Kassidy, Sawyer, and Kai; brother Bruce (Toni); sister Patricia (Gord); mother-in-law (Ruth); sisters and brothers in law, nieces and nephews, and dear friends. While his passing leaves a hole in our hearts, his spirit, laughter, and legacy of love will live on forever.

Ed was predeceased by his father, Joseph; mother, Wilhelmina; sister, Jeanette (Ken); brothers, Victor (Ona) and Allan (Rayne); and his daughter, Rhonda.

A Graveside Service will be held at the Sundre Cemetery on Wednesday, April 9th at 1:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will follow at the McDougal Chapel in Sundre at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ed's name to the Alberta Lung Association https://ablung.ca/give-back/donate/

Ed will be deeply missed, and his memory will live on in the many lives he touched.

Several memories come to mind when thinking of Ed, what will be unforgettable is his generosity, his curiosity, his wry sense of humor and, of course, his beaming smile. When visiting him and dear Rhonda (or visa versa), he always took genuine interest in your world. My sincere condolences to Rhonda, and their family. Much love,

Thank-you Ed for all our laughs, and the great friendship we shared.. I love to remember all our coffees and laughs we had at the airport and in the coffee shops in Airdrie. Always had much to debate about, which all ended up in a hug as we carried on with our day. Miss you, buddy. And miss your insightful texts! 🤗 💞

A special memory of uncle Eddie, is when he and auntie Rhonda came down to Vancouver to see an artist preform. We grabbed dinner at Granville island. It is so lovely to catch up, reminisce of old memories and of course him making us have some serious belly laughs.
Forever loved- The Baxters
