Edwin McKevitt

Edwin, born in Midnapore to Albert McKevitt and Exilda Shaw. He was the grandson of James McKevitt and great-grandson of Samuel W. Shaw. He married Linda Webb and had three children Cheryl, Gwen and Dawn. Gwen married Jason Chambers and gave Ed two wonderful grandsons, Conor and Cole Chambers. Ed was the little brother of Sheila, Hugh, Alberta, Audrey and Larry. He was an uncle and great friend to so many.

He loved people and animals, children especially. A cold Caesar, with lots of ice, shared with good friends was a popular choice.  Stonewall Jackson, Boxcar Willie and Hank Williams were among the favourites that frequently shook the walls of whatever home, permanent or away, that he happened to be in at the time.  He loved to drive…anything.

A daunting man, in size and personality, the biggest part of him was his heart. A man who listened more than he spoke, worked more than he slept and gave more than he took. You will forever live in our hearts; in the way we live and as the centre of our stories and tales.

Great tribute to a wonderful man and friend. One of his Caesar recipes was created when we all were in Hawaii, so good.

As a young man I was fortunate enough to be influenced by the many great attributes that Ed possessed. He taught me two life skills skills that every man should know, how to drive a semi truck, and how to build a great caesar. Thanks to Ed for sharing his time with me, the time I was able to spend with Ed always be valued and remembered.

My deepest condolences to Linda, Dawn, Gwen and Cheryl.
