Elaine Doris Dockter (Fischbach)

Elaine Dockter passed away peacefully at the Foothills General Hospital on Sunday, December 22, 2024 with her daughter, Ila, by her side.

Elaine was born in the Stettler Hospital on July 4, 1942 to Emil and Eveline Fischbach. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Darren; her daughter, Ila (Gene); grandchildren, Brenna, Abra (Michael), Jared (Nicholle) and Mae. Elaine is also survived by her siblings, Gordon (Arlie), Jim (Jackie), and Dorothy (Norman); and her sister-in-law, Edna (Laurie) and many nieces and nephews.

Elaine was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Jake in 2022; infant granddaughter, Nadine; and her sisters-in-law, Eva (Collin) and Frieda.

Elaine truly cherished the simple pleasures in life. Her love for family and friends, along with her hobbies camping, fishing, playing games, knitting, crocheting, sewing, cooking, baking and canning brought her great joy.

She was a loving wife, caring mother and dedicated friend. Elaine worked in the banking business for most of her professional life initially spending five years with the CIBC bank and then 17 years with ATB, most of which was at the Didsbury branch. She and Jake moved numerous times throughout their married lives and she made and kept friendships everywhere they lived.

A Memorial service in celebration of Elaine’s life will be held at the Zion Evangelical Church, Didsbury, AB on Monday, January 20, 2024 at 2:00 pm.
