In Memory
Erasmo "Moe" Palombi

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Erasmo “Moe” Palombi, who died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at the age of 87, after his battle with Parkinson’s disease.
His passing will be mourned by his wife of forty-seven years, Maria Christina; his children, Liliana Plava, Livia (James) Geddes, Sonya (Michael) Sharp, and Alessandro Palombi (Mary Saunders); and his grandchildren, Veronica Plava (Luca Fatica), Massimo Plava, Edward Sharp and Wallace Sharp. He will also be lovingly remembered by his siblings, numerous nieces, nephews, and many close friends.
Erasmo was born on June 6, 1939, in Sezze Latina, Italy, to Agostino and Maria Palombi. At the age of 19, he moved to Canada. He lived in Winnipeg and Edmonton before settling in Calgary, where he built the life he was so proud of.
He was an entrepreneur from the moment he arrived in Canada and worked in construction for 55 years, where he was widely known for his work ethic. Those who worked with him remember his knowledge, his sense of humour, and his willingness to help anyone who asked.
Erasmo was devoted to his family and was a very proud father and Nonno. He never missed an opportunity to tell his children and grandchildren how proud he was of them. He loved skiing, playing tennis, and watching soccer (Roma) and hockey (CGY Flames), but most of all cheering “coaching” his grandchildren from the sidelines of the soccer pitch or the stands of a hockey arena. Anyone who met him along the way will remember his jovial personality.
Erasmo had a gift for making people feel welcome, telling a good story, and making everyone laugh. There was always a seat at his table and a glass of wine to share.
The family would like to thank all the staff, nurses, and Dr. Rebecca Ng at Brenda Strafford – Cambridge Manor, who took such good care of Erasmo.
A Funeral Service and Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 23, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 541 Silvergrove Drive NW., Calgary, AB. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to the Botanical Gardens of Silver Springs (bgss.ca), where a memorial bench for Erasmo will be located.
Erasmo will be deeply missed by everyone whose life he touched. “Rest easy, Moe, we love you!”
