Ernest "Ernie" Buhler

Ernie Buhler passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022 at the age of 78. He will be lovingly remembered by his loving wife, Amelia; children, Trent (Keely), Todd (Janelle) and Holly (Adrian); and his grandchildren which he loved with all his heart and who loved him back just as much, Arlo, Emmy, Kyran, Zachary, Zayne, Alexis and Chase; his sister, Gertie; as well as friends, coworkers, neighbours, and relatives that have rolled dice with him.

Ernie was predeceased by his parents, David and Anna Buhler; as well as his brother, David; and sisters, Marie, Eva and Chris.

On Monday, October 24 the world lost a man, just another man to most but to us this man was our world. He was born Abram Ernest Buhler in Rosthern, SK, on May 18, 1944. He was known to many as Ernest or Ernie, to some it was Peewee, but most importantly it was Grandpa, Dad and to our mom Sweetheart.

Amelia was his true love, and he was not afraid to show it. They could be seen always holding hands, sharing a kiss on an escalator or dancing in the kitchen to Don Williams. Even in his final days and hours you could not miss how much they loved each other. A thousand years would not have been enough time together. As his kids we were lucky to witness and be part of the 55 years they shared.

Ernie touched the lives of many by always giving a helping hand wherever and whenever it was needed. Whether it was helping fix a car, building a deck, or anything he could help with he would.

Ernie was a hard worker at his bench at KBR Brake Specialist, for many years where he developed long time friendships. He took up skiing and golf later in life to be able spend more time with his kids. After retiring, woodworking became his main hobby as well as going to as many of the grandkid's activities that he could. His most cherished times and memories were of fishing trips to Buck Lake with mom and of course to Saskatchewan with relatives.

Dad, you had many sayings, but the one we use and liked the most has always been “The right combination of swear words can fix anything” But this was the one thing it could not fix, believe me we tried, we tried a lot.

Love you Dad, Rest in Peace.
