Frances Steele

The family of Frances (Frankie) D. Steele announce her passing on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. Frankie was born in Drumheller, AB on February 21, 1951, and grew up and remained in Calgary AB her entire life. She was a long-time employee of The Calgary Board of Education and retired as a purchasing manager several years ago. 

Frankie was predeceased by her father, John Steele; her mother, Margaret (Ramsay) Turner; and her stepfather, Len Turner; and many aunts and uncles she loved. 

Frankie lived in Shalem, a senior living community, for over 6 years and was always so very appreciative of all the care she received from her care team and considered them her friends, always mentioning them in conversation. Her family would like to acknowledge the care and comfort which she received there as well as by her team of caregivers at the Rockyview Hospital, Mayfair Care Centre and AgeCare Shawnee. 

As per Frankies wishes, there will be no service or ceremony. 

Her ashes will be placed in the Scattering Garden in Queens Park Cemetery along with her mother’s and stepfathers at a future date.
