In Memory
Francis Daniel "Dan" Jacob
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Daniel "Dan" Jacob on Saturday, September 14, 2024.
Dan is lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Michaeline; his children, Sandy (Greg), Chris (Nicky), Tim (Cindy), Jeff and Laurie (Cameron); his grandchildren, Taggart (Kailey), Sasha, Tanner (Danika), Alix, Sidney, Evan and Emma and great-grandchildren, Amara and Kayson.
Dan was born in the Mutrie area of Saskatchewan on February 13, 1937. He was the youngest of 7 children. Dan farmed and ranched in SE Sask until 1980 when he re-located with his family to the Airdrie area. He has been an active member of the community and St. Paul's Parish since. Many will remember him for singing in the choir.
Dan worked in farming and ranching most of his life and always had a passion for riding and training horses.
He was an authentic, kind, hard working and generous man. He loved people and was always happy to engage in conversation, especially if it was about a horse. He was the eternal optimist and rarely had a bad day. He had a great sense of humour, always had a joke to tell or a story to share and will be remembered for his amazing laugh!
Dan was a friend to many. His motto was "A stranger is just a friend you haven't met yet".
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 1305 Main Steet S, Airdrie on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 1:00 pm. Inurnment will follow at a later date in Saskatchewan.
For those who can't attend, a live stream will be available for viewing at https://youtube.com/live/TR44FZqfSqs?feature=share
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Paul's Building Fund, 1305 Main Street S, Airdrie, AB T4B 1C5.

I woke up early this morning and thought about giving Dan my yearly ‘how are you doing’ phone call. Something told me he was no longer with us so I looked up his name and seen he had passed. Dan was such an amazing horse trainer helping me greatly with my three horses Pal, Triton and Kia.
I will miss our chats and his wisdom.
Please accept my condolences and loving thoughts, Dan will be missed forever but never forgotten. XO Anne

We will always remember “grandpa Jacob” fondly as he had a truly kind and generous heart.
Sending prayers and love to “grandma Jacob” and our son in law Tanner (and his family) especially on Friday during the service but in the days and months to come.
God bless!
