Garnet was born, raised and attended school in the Mulhurst and Wetaskiwin areas. He relocated to Drumheller in 2018 to be close to family. He enjoyed being around horses, camping, fishing, driving a semi and taxi. He volunteered for many years with Wetaskiwin minor hockey and the Wetaskiwin Icemen.

He was predeceased by both parents, Jim and Mary; brother, Bill; and sisters, Faye, Hazel and Judy.

He is lovingly remembered by one sister, Sharon (Ken); one brother, Lloyd (Dawn); and wife, Sharon; son, Corey (Trina); and daughters, Kiera (Jeff) and Kjeryn. He is also remembered by grandchildren; great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held next summer in the Wetaskiwin area. Details to be posted at a later date. If so desired donations can be made in his name to Heart and Stroke Association, www.heartandstroke.ca; or Peggy’s Feline Rescue of Drumheller.

Our condolences to all of his family. I remember Garnet as always a friendly, laid back kinda guy who always had a smile on his face. Rest in peace cousin.
