Georgia Iverson

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Georgia Iverson who passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, surrounded by family. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Georgia will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Norris; her children, Brad and Brandi; her grandchildren, Stefan, Mackenzie and Lauren; her sisters, Dolores Christie and Verna Tilleman. She was predeceased by her parents, George and Fern Christensen; and her sister, Betty Christensen.

Georgia was born and raised in Taber, Alberta, the third of four daughters to George and Fern. Growing up in Taber, Georgia attended W. H. Meyers school for her high school years. It was there that she met Norris, the love of her life. Georgia and Norris graduated high school in 1968 and were married in June 1970.

Shortly after their marriage Norris and Georgia moved to Lethbridge. There Georgia worked as a bank teller with the Bank of Nova Scotia. In 1972, after her son Brad was born, she left the bank to focus on her family. In 1974 the family moved to Calgary where her daughter Brandi was born.

Georgia believed in the importance of family, and being a mother was one her greatest joys. She devoted herself to raising her children and was there for the big and small moments. She would often volunteer at school activities, sporting events, and church activities her children were involved in.

In 1986, Georgia returned to the Bank of Nova Scotia, where she worked part-time until retiring in 2003.

Some of Georgia’s happiest memories were made during family camping trips. Summers were spent camping with Norris and her children at Twin Echoes in Idaho. There they would spend days at the lake combined with shopping trips to Spokane. As her family grew, those traditions continued with camping trips to Great Falls, Montana with her grandchildren.

Georgia had a special love for her home and garden. She took pride in her yard and could often be found outside tending to her flowers and gardens.

She also loved long walks with her dog, spending time with friends and providing service to others. She had a generous heart and believed in the importance of serving others. Her faith taught her that service was an important part of life, and she lived that belief.

A special thank you the dedicated nurses and health care aides at Dulcina Hospice who provided Georgia with compassion and care during her stay. Their kindness and support brought comfort to Georgia and her family during a difficult time.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, (1504 Main Street, Airdrie, Alberta) on Thursday, October 8 at 1:00 pm. A private Graveside Service for family will take place at Archmount Cemetery (Lethbridge, Alberta) on Friday, October 9 at 1:00 pm.

She was very faithful in the church and did everything she was asked. She often helped in the kitchen for activities and funerals. She was a very special friend and often did kindnesses especially when they needed when they were sick. She is a wonderful lady and will be missed.
