In Memory
Georgina Smith/Prentice

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Georgina Smith nee Prentice, who peacefully left us on April 24, 2026, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Georgina was born on March 12, 1937, in Corby, Northamptonshire, England to Ruby and George Prentice.
Georgina immigrated to Canada in 1958 to join (the love of her life) Michael Smith whom had immigrated 2 years earlier. They were married May 2, 1959, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and enjoyed 59 years of happily married life.
Georgina and Michael made many friends in Canada, which became surrogate Aunts and Uncles to their 3 girls. Although they enjoyed Canada, they never forgot their family and many friends in the United Kingdom. It was very important to them to take the family back to England as often as they could and maintain their connection to their homeland and family.
Georgina and Michael loved England and shared many stories of their childhood with their children, grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
They built a legacy in Canada but always ensured we all knew where our family roots originated.
Georgina will be lovingly remembered by her predeceased husband Michael Smith, her daughters Susan, Carol, and Sandra, her son-in-laws Carl Walper and Daniel Boivin, her brother William Prentice and his wife Barbara Prentice, her brother-in-law David Smith and his wife Janet Smith, her grandsons Lindsay (Kristin), Michael (Savannah), Jesse (Kassidy), Eric (Morgan), Nicholas (Jade), Steven (Phoebe), her great-grandchildren Persephoney, Zalan, Varik, Hudson, Maverick, Preston, Kolter, her step-grandchildren Naji and Maysa, her nieces and nephews Lisa (Willie) Killgallon, Scott (Judith) Prentice, David (Stacey) Smith, and John (Natalie) Smith, and her great-nieces and nephews Lonnie, Bethany, Thomas, George and Loucelle, Kaden, Charlie, Ashley Rose, Oliver, and Imogen.
Georgina had a passion for dancing, music, sewing, embroidery, homemaking, and holidays. She brought joy and warmth to all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
A Memorial Service will be held in Okotoks as well as Corby, England. Dates to be announced.
Rest in peace, Georgina. You will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
