Gerarda (Gerry) Ostiguy (nee Beaudoin)

March 4th, 1934 - October 17th, 2025
Gerarda (Gerry) Ostiguy (nee Beaudoin)

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gerarda (Gerry) Ostiguy (nee Beaudoin), who passed away peacefully on Friday, October 17, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on March 4, 1934, Gerry lived a long life filled with family, warmth, and laughter.

Gerry will be dearly missed by her six loving children, Lionel (Jocelyne), Gisele (Robert), Michael (Wendy), Re’all (Deborah), Nicole (Christopher), and Timothy (Leigh).

Her legacy continues through her twenty-one cherished grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.

She is lovingly remembered by her two devoted sisters, Marielle Coulombe and Laurentia (George) Bubley, as well as many relatives and friends who loved her dearly.

Gerry was reunited in passing with her beloved husband, Reginald, who predeceased her in 1987, along with two grandsons, Derrick (1979) and Eric (2003).

A woman of great humor and independent nature, Gerry was known for her charitable heart and the immense love she held for her family and friends. She had a lifelong passion for reading, always finding comfort and escape in a book or two before bed. One of her dearest companions was her car, they truly went everywhere together. She loved to hit the open road whenever she got the chance. One of her favourite destinations was Our Lady of Lourdes St. Laurent Shrine; Gerry spent many years volunteering and devoting her time to this place she held so dear.

Gerry was the center of her family and a comforting spirit to all who knew her. It didn’t matter how many times you heard her stories, her delight in remembering them made it impossible not to enjoy hearing them again.

The time she gave you was her greatest gift, evident in the marathon Yahtzee games with her kids, the intricate puzzles with her grandkids, and the multiple viewings of the photo albums she treasured. She would show her love by cheering in the stands during her grandkids hockey games, and had a unique talent for thrifting, always bringing back the right treasures for each one of her family members.

Gerry's life was a testament to joy, generosity, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear. Her bright spirit will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gerry’s name to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta, www.alzheimer.ca
