Gerard (Jerry) Brad

Gerard (Jerry) Brad passed away peacefully at Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary, Alberta on May 16th, 2023 at the age of 89. He was born in Leask, Saskatchewan on February 20th, 1934 to George and Marie Brad. Jerry was the 2nd youngest of 11 children.  He spent his youth on the family farm in the D’Amour District. Alongside his Father and brothers, Jerry learned how to farm, hunt, and fish. 

Jerry met Mary Anne (Christensen) when she worked at the Beausite School down the road from the family farm.  They married on June 16th, 1958. After they married Jerry took over the family homestead where he farmed with his brothers. Jerry and Mary Anne had 5 children. Jerry loved to fish, winter or summer, hunt, play cards, and dance. After 45 years of farming, they retired and moved to Airdrie, Alberta.

Jerry leaves behind five children, Harold Brad, Eva (Don) Lee, Maurice (Yvonne Scherger) Brad, Brian Brad, Barry (Susan) Brad; 12 grandchildren, Tyler, Curtis (June), Tara Lee, Jared Lee, Amanda (Wes) Delisle, Adam (Ashley), Daniel (Richelle), Matthew, Mitchell, Zachary, Samantha (Ziryan), and Alexandra. Nine great-grandchildren Izaac, Phoenix, Morgan, Riley, Ayden, Ari, Adalynn, Layla and Bennett. Three Siblings, Emile (Beatrice) Brad, Yvonne Richter, Joe (Dorothy) Brad as well as numerous brother and sister-in-laws, nephews and nieces.

The family would like to thank the staff of St. Marguerite Manor, Age Care at Skyview Point, and the nurses and doctors at Peter Lougheed Hospital for the care and concern shown to our father over the last few years of his life.
