Gerda Pagenkopf

Gerda passed away at Didsbury Hospital after a long-lived full life.
Gerda is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Anita Kohnen and Jeanette Davey; her sons, Bernard, Markus and Douglas (Fern) Pagenkopf; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; as well as her sister, Ursula (Erhardt) Pagenkopf and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Armin in 2004.
Gerda was born in Bremen, Germany and immigrated to Canada in 1952. She married Armin in 1961 and raised their family and eventually settled in Airdrie.
Gerda and Armin enjoyed retirement in Kelowna and their travels to places near and far. She volunteered for the Kelowna RCMP wherever help was needed. Gerda loved to sing with the community and church choirs with the highlight being the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics.
Gerda loved fishing and accompanying her boys and Armin on hunting trips. She was at one with nature and had a love for all living things from plants to dogs and horses.
A Private family Interment will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, followed by a Memorial Service at Lutheran Church of the Master, 216 Main Street S.E. Airdrie, at 1:00 PM. Pastor Tim Wray will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the Lutheran Church of the Master.
