Glen Alexander Copeland

January 14th, 1946 - November 29th, 2025
Glen Alexander Copeland

Glen Copeland was a very much-loved husband, father and brother. He passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 29, surrounded by his family.

Glen will be lovingly remembered forever by his wife, Colleen (Sim-Copeland); daughter, Lorlie; sister, Sharon; brothers, Dennis, Terry, and chosen brother, Tom Neiland. His mother-in-law, Liz; brothers-in-law, Ron, Stan, and Russ; and sisters-in-law, Daphne, Heather, and Carolyn, will miss him very much. Memories of their times spent with Uncle Glen are valued by his nephews, Ron, Wayne, Brad, Charlie, Chris, Doug, Rory; and nieces, Carole, and Diana.

He was predeceased by his mother, Jennett; father, Glenwood; and brothers, Ron and Bill.

In semi-retirement Glen really enjoyed bonding with a brotherhood of equals at Shaw GMC. Prior to that he relished being part of a great team and wonderful work family at EC&M Electric.

Outgoing, sociable and kind, Glen was a huge music lover, avid reader, and great communicator. He was very knowledgeable on many subjects and liked having discussions with people from all walks of life. His passion was camping, especially sitting around the fire while strumming his guitar, listening to music or looking up at the stars. The Kootenays held a special place in his heart and was his favorite place to be. When he wasn’t camping, just being on his back deck appreciating all the summer days always brought him joy. Glen was a real do it yourselfer, who could always figure it out if he didn’t know how to do something – without help from Google or YouTube.

Many thanks go out to the various specialists, doctors, nurses and caregivers at Rockyview Hospital. They worked tirelessly to give Glen exceptional care, during what was to become his final week.

A Celebration of Life will be held for him in the springtime; details to be announced at a later date.

We hope you can join the family, then to share a memory, or two or three, of your time with Glen.

My favourite memory of Glen was sharing my Dutch mini-pancakes with him. I loved working with him and hearing his interesting stories, from his old job, or the time he was asked to drive down to Enid. I only knew Glen for a few years but I will miss him greatly. May he rest in peace.
