Glenn Claude Lemieux

November 11th, 1955 - May 21st, 2025
Glenn Claude Lemieux

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Glenn Claude Lemieux, who passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Agape Hospice, at the age of 69.

He was the beloved son of Claude and Mary Lemieux; brother to Jo-Anne (Dale) and Michael; proud uncle to Krystal (Todd) and Jason (Heather); and great-uncle to Connor, Hannah, Isabella, Emily and Henry.

Glenn will be deeply missed by his family and friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Glenn’s legacy is one of faith and music; he was a life-long student of music, and held two doctorates: one for theory and one for composition. In 2023, Glenn performed a jazz recital at Capilano University.

Glenn was a gentle soul. He had a deep passion for the Lord. He attended Windword Church in Aldergrove, BC, often sharing his musical gifts on the worship team playing piano. He was also involved in different Bible studies, always eager to grow and deepen his relationship with the Lord.

A Celebration of Glenn’s Life will be held at the Langdon Community Church, Centre St. NE, Langdon, AB, on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 11:00am.

Dear Jo-Anne ,Dear Michael,
I am really sad of the loss of Glenn.
I have nice remembers when we were
young at Lévis during summers for example.
And when Glenn have came a weekend to Jazz Festival at Montréal.
We had a wonderful time.
I am sorry that he had suffered so much.
I pray for him and I think sincerely of you and your family.

Doreen (my mom) will never forget the wonderful vacation that she & Val took with Claude & Mary as well as Fred & Julie to San Antonio when the group of them attended one of Glenn’s doctoral graduations. She remembers Glenn going out of his way to take them to special places there & joked that he was the leader of the senior tour. I can really appreciate that role as I served as the senior tour driver when Mom,Dad,Mary & Claude toured Quebec then went down to Madison to visit Glenn while he was there. Glenn piled in the car & we all went to Chicago to visit my Cousin & take in some theatre and a few great restaurants. My Cousin Verella is also a passionate musician & vocalist so we all stood back with amazement at their deep discussion of music. I also can’t begin to tell you how many time Mom,Dad,& I visited Calgary for Baton Competitions. Mary Always insisted that we stay at their place when we came down & kind Glenn & Mike gave up their bedrooms for us to crash in. We often got to listen to Glenn on the piano & Claude on his trombone in the evenings after being stuffed by Mary’s great cooking and nice visits with Joanne's family as well. Soooo it is with great love for the Lemieux family that we pass on our most sincere condolences! Remember that Glenn will always be with you in your precious memories of time spent with him & that Mary&Claude are probably up dancing a good jive somewhere in Heaven with Glenn pounding out a beautiful tune for them on the piano! Until you all meet again in Heaven.

Both Lona & I extend to you & your family, our heartfelt condolences.
Glenn had a very deep place in my heart. He had the gift of meeting you where you were at in your life. Not everyone can do that.
Some of my favourite times were when we would meet at his favourite coffee shop-Gratia in Maple Ridge. It was there, sitting across the table that we would open our hearts to one another. And even though there was a lot of people chatting around us (it was always busy) Glenn made me feel like I was the only person in the room.
We would discuss our Christian walk/experience, music, different situations that were going on in our lives… wherever the “wind” would take us.
He was indeed an amazing gift to this world, and was called Home much too early. I miss him so!
Glenn may be gone, but he will not be forgotten.
I love you my Brother.

I met Glenn through my son Jonathan, a fellow musician with Glenn. Our last coffee together as a threesome in Maple Ridge is one of my the memories that I cherish and recall often. Glenn was an amazing friend to Jonathan and we consider it a true honour to have known him. We look forward to the day we will see Glenn again. Our deepest sympathies to the family at this big loss.
