Gordon Donald Greebe

March 21st, 1958 - June 21st, 2024
Gordon Donald Greebe

Gordon Greebe passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 21, 2024, at the age of 66 years.  Gordon will be lovingly remembered and thoroughly missed by his brother, Brian Greebe (Donna); sister, Gwen Zalewski (Frank); many family, friends, neighbours on the acreage by Carstairs, support workers, residents and staff of Mount View Lodge and people he met along the way during his life’s journey.

Gordon is predeceased by his parents, Casey Greebe (Father) 2020, Joyce Woods (Mother) 2022, Lila Greebe (Stepmother) 2020, and Jason Greebe (nephew) 1999.

Gordon was a longtime resident of Olds.  He first attended Horizon School and went on to work at Childspace Industries building playground equipment until it closed. For 10 years Gord volunteered at the Albertan, delivering the newspaper on his route.  His memory was meticulous and perceptive as he knew who lived in which home and what animals they had and how many children.  Other volunteering activities were collecting bottles and taking them to the bottle depot for the Olds Legion.  His last volunteer position was handing out potatoe chips twice a month to the residents in the Lodge where he resided.

Gordon was a very happy brother!  He participated in the Special Olympics, and his love of bowling and going to bowling tournaments.  Gord enjoyed bus tours with the last one being a trip to see the wild horses near Sundre.

Gord’s favorite reply when you were making a suggestion was “Ya, Ya, Ya” which meant he was ignoring the suggestion LOL.

Gordon’s Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.  “May family and friends left behind find joy with each butterfly that passes by”.

I use to support Gordon a few years ago. He will always have a special place in my heart. He was always a joy to be around, and stubborn at times as we can all be haha. Condolences to family, friends, support workers, people in the community that got to know Gordon the way that I have. Gone too soon my friend, may you rest in peace
